The next melody has a contrasting minor tonality emphasized by the G note in the phrases. It is primarily based on E Minor Pentatonic (E-G-A-B-D). Note the use of fingerplucking technique to play a classic pedal-tone "organ style" blues lick. This is reminiscent of another great Texas bluesman Albert Collins. Note also the high E as a pedal point in the lick and the addition of the flat fifth Bb from the E Blues Scale and C# as an ending note.
